The town of Biratori will operate the Setapukusa-go bus in 2025 as part of the Ainu Cultural Exchange Promotion Bus Project, supported by Japan’s national Ainu policy promotion grant.
This bus aims to promote understanding and exchange around Ainu culture.
The Setapukusa-go conveniently connects urban hubs like Sapporo and New Chitose Airport with two important Ainu cultural sites: Nibutani Kotan in Biratori Town and Upopoy (National Ainu Museum and Park) in Shiraoi Town. The bus offers a budget-friendly way to explore these meaningful destinations.
Service Schedule (1 round-trip per day, total 40 days):
[Period 1] Daily from Friday, July 25 to Saturday, August 30
Note: No service on Upopoy’s closed days — July 28, August 4, 18, and 25 — and on August 31.
[Period 2] Weekends and holidays from Monday, September 1 to Sunday, September 21
